I love Touring Car racing, and RaceRoom does that better than anything else at the moment. I wouldn't be saying any of this is RaceRoom wasn't my favourite sim atm. RaceRoom is underrated for a lot of reasons - bad launch, dated visuals on UI, a VRP system that seems designed to confuse people, and to be frank there's Sims that do more popular things (GT3s at Spa/Monza) much better than RaceRoom does. I have also competed in 50-60 multiplayer, online races so far and so long as I stay away from the free-for-all public servers and race only on the ranked servers, that racing is generally very good as well.īottom line: I started with RaceRoom roughly a year ago and haven't felt compelled to try any other sims since, which is about the highest praise for it I can offer. While the AI can behave in an unrealistic ways when its strength is set low, I've found that if I improve my performance with a car / track combo to the point where I can be competitive at higher strength settings - say, 112 and higher on its 120 scale - the AI does a credible job of making it seem as though I'm actually racing against real people. Which is quite a compliment, I suppose, because it pretty much says everything that needs to be said. While it's not perfect and I have several minor complaints about it, IMO, it's also good enough that I've never felt any need to try any other racing sim programs. (Emphasis on had, as I did voluntarily buy a few of the new cars and tracks they released earlier this year, but this was optional, not required.)

A little over a year ago, I started sim racing with RaceRoom thanks to its free content business model (because I hate, hate, *hate* paying subscription fees for any reason!) and I eventually bought its premium pack during a sale, the cost of which was like four months of the IRacing subscription fee paid all at once and I haven't had to pay them any more money since.
